Step 2

Take three sheets of newspaper and roll each one tightly into long tubes. The rolls should be as compact as possible to make the wreath stronger and easier to assemble later.

Use the flat surface of a table to help keep the rolls even and smooth as you work.

Step 3

Coat the walls of the glass jar with a generous amount of white glue using your paintbrush. Before the glue dries, start applying the pink crepe paper shapes onto the jar. Overlap some pieces to fully cover the jar, creating a vibrant pink layer.

Step 4

Braid the three newspaper rolls together, just like you would braid hair. Start at the taped end and work your way to the opposite end. Pull tightly as you braid to keep the wreath strong while maintaining an even texture throughout.

Step 5

Allow the pink layer to dry completely, which should take about 2 to 3 hours. If you're short on time, a fan or cool hair dryer can speed up the drying process. Make sure it's thoroughly dry before moving to the next step..

Step 6

Using a paintbrush, apply green paint to cover the front, sides, and edges of your wreath circle. If you don’t have green paint, mix yellow and blue paint together to create your desired shade. This will give your wreath a vibrant and festive look.

Step 7

Apply a thin layer of glue over the dried pink paper and carefully place the red hearts on the jar. Arrange the hearts randomly across the surface to create a playful and loving pattern.

Step 8

Let the jar dry again for at least 2 hours to ensure the hearts are firmly in place. Patience is key here to ensure nothing shifts.

Step 9

Congratulations! Your heart jar is now ready to be used. You can display it as a simple vase or use it as a luminary..

Step 10

If using as a luminary, gently place a tea light candle inside the jar. Be sure to handle the jar carefully, especially with the candle lit.
